Markulec to Co-present with David Stender, Associate Chief Information Officer, Cybersecurity, IRS; Discussion to Center on the Federal Government’s Trusted Internet Connection Initiative

Somerset, NJ – October 21, 2008– Lumeta, the leading provider of Network Assurance solutions for enterprises and government agencies, today announced that COO Michael Markulec, along with Associate Chief Information Officer, Cybersecurity, IRS, David Stender, will be co-leading a session at the upcoming Federal Information Assurance Conference (FIAC) taking place later this month in Washington, DC.  The session, titled Trusted Internet Connection (TIC), will focus on the Federal Government’s ongoing initiative to consolidate Internet points-of-presence in order to insulate federal networks from risk and intrusion with more tightly managed Internet gateways.

Mr. Markulec will provide insights into the world's cyber infrastructure culled from 10 years of Internet Mapping research which have a direct bearing on today's most onerous network management, security, and geo-political issues. Mr. Stender will discuss how TIC will improve the federal government's incident response capability through the reduction of external connections and centralized gateway monitoring at a select group of TIC Access Providers.

“The connectivity at the backbone of the Internet is impacted as either network or geo-political conditions change,” said Markulec.  “At Lumeta, we have a unique perspective on changes to global connectivity because our technology is able to take snapshots of the world's cyber infrastructure.  The resulting research shows how this infrastructure changes over time and reveals important lessons in the changing nature of connectivity for Information Assurance officers as they embrace the TIC initiative.”

Details of the session are as follows:
